Kara Pangilinan is a 23 year old BS Architecture graduate from UP Diliman, as well as a freelance pen and ink artist. With black and white as her most favored palette and her selected medium, pen and ink, Kara creates extremely intricate works that give a sense of depth to even the simplest of subjects. Over the years, she has learned to channel emotions and experiences into the lines, shapes and patterns of her work, turning her art into an instrument of release as well. Kara has shared her process of using doodle art as an outlet, as a workshop instructor at various art events around the Metro.
In 2011, she created an art brand called Details Ink, which started out with stationery products and later on branched out to notebooks, shirts, phone cases and other collectibles – all with her signature black and white style. Today it stands as her personal art brand and her main channel to share her creative journey. Her work was featured in various websites and television shows such as ABS-CBN My Puhunan, ANC Shoptalk, TV5 Aksyon Tonite and GMA Good News. Come 2016, Kara started exploring more diverse canvases like shoes, guitars, helmets and eventually, she took her pen and ink art to a much larger scale and now enjoys creating wall murals and commissioned works for various establishments and residences both here and abroad.
